It's no wonder we talk about the weather so much here in the UK! In the space of a week and a half we've had a brusque change from sunny and 27' when we were in the midst of Leicester Square for the premiere of the new Diana film, to within days having dipped back to under the 20' mark, apparently not to return for another 9 months if this year is anything to go by!
But the silver lining - and you have to look on the bright side when it comes to things you can't change! - is that it's an excuse to fall in line with fall fashion (fnar fnar!). London Fashion Week ended yesterday, and while the dailies, magazine sites and style blogs are full of chatter about spring fashion, we all know that we are ready to pull back out those layers, knits, coats, and cosy opaque tights again!
The other piece of good news - whisper it - is that while all the new season fashion is hitting the shops, the big brands are making room in their warehouses for all the lovely newness... and sending last season off to designer outlets like Bicester Village, Mac Arthur Glen etc. This isn't a sponsored post btw, just a friendly tip! Plus, school holidays are over, so it should be a bit quieter than it was a few weeks ago.
Before the weather broke, I bought these sandals, and despite the 4" heel, they are SO comfortable, I even did a store visit in them, trotting around quite comfortably. I'll keep getting wear out of them over winter with opaque tights, see above!
In this weather, with the schizophrenic weather including sunshine, torrential downpours, and mizzle (mist + drizzle), a lightweight and waterproof trench is just the ticket, and I am wearing the heck out of this one. Hmm, notice a theme here?

I decided that it was about time to change my hair too - after 2 babies, my hair has thinned dramatically, which has been quite hard to get used to, having always battled with too-thick hair... the grass is never greener! Last weekend, I let my hairdresser chop off 4 inches, and voila, we have a not-quite bob! Together with the fringe, I suddenly realised that I looked slightly familiar....
Veronica Lodge from the Archies comics is the one on the left!
When I showed this to Mr.G he looked at me completely blankly, and I realised that we were missing a whole frame of reference - he had no idea who the Archies are! I think I may need to buy him some comic books.
And if that's not enough change, I've finally gotten around to getting my new glasses - bonjour Chanel frames, now, do I look smarter? Well, at least I can see!
Have a great week!
